With its standard size, 15″ double first base, both the baseman and runner have a space at the base, preventing collisions and injury down the line. At second and third, 15″ Soft Touch Progressive Release Bases flex and absorb energy from sliding players, and are designed to pop off and release from their mount when enough force is applied, typically from an improper, short and hard slide. This progressive release design keeps players safe and prevents cuts, bruises, and broken bones caused by poor sliding. Made from molded, durable, and cut-resistant polyurethane, for strength and flexibility, S Series Spike Down Soft Touch Bases are designed to install quickly and easily into any field before game time, and are removed just as easily. With their simple mounting tee, spike-down disk, and anchoring spikes, these bases stay put and provide maximum safety and performance, without need for a permanent or in-ground mounting system. Due to the double anchor system, the Soft Touch Double First Base is not a release type base. 2nd and 3rd base are progressive release bases.
